The Old Hotel - Three Cranes

Excellent location and a spacious stay, with great facilities. Positive: Loved the location, only a 20 minute stroll into the centre of York. We also loved the facilities (notably a full kitchen, washing machine, parking). Negative: That we were unable to control the temperature and that we were only given one toilet roll in the main bathroom.

Great stay, will return! Positive: Very spacious, feels more like a house. Great location! Negative: N/A

Enjoyable Positive: Location, nice walk to town, nice outside space, nice renovation and also parking. Negative: Could be better informed about the sleeping arrangements. Sofa bed not made up and had to ask for extra bedding.

Just back from our stay at The Old Hotel, we stayed in the Three Cranes. Check in details explained exactly how to find them, where to park and where the key locks are located and we had an easy check in. We found the accommodation modern and well thought out. Accommodation was lovely and warm on arrival and had no complaints over being cold in fact probably the opposite. We even had a lovely dog bed, bowls, blanket and biscuit supplied which was a lovely touch. The bed was so comfy in fact it’s the best sleep we have had when we have been away (which I struggle with) so well done ! On the door step is a pub which does street food which we enjoyed one night, a butchers who also have the pie and deli next door which was also lovely, they sell fruit and veg and there is also a spar across the road. When leaving the property if you turn left down the one way road and carry on left you will find a lovely park across from the hotel where the traffic’s light are you’ll see black rails there isn’t really a sign ! which was lovely for walking the dog. Or carry on past the hotel and you come to the river walk into town which is lovely and quiet. Only takes 15 minutes walk whether going right by the street into town or left by the river. Just a couple of negatives there is no mirror in bedroom, TV in bedroom not working either but let the owners know and we had an issue with shower overflowing but was resolved straight away for us. The property is starting to show signs of needing some maintenance updates, stains on carpet and furniture, walls marked and skirting grubby and garden furniture not in great condition but this didn’t affect our stay and hope the owners take this on board and would still stay here again as so handy for everything.

Very pleasant rest full stay , would definitely book again Positive: The location to City Centre and on site Parking. The Flat was very well appointed and spacious Negative: Tv s Internet only, standard channels would have been nice eg BBC 1 ,Itv etc
